So, another rough night of sleep, but one must get up for Disney! I don't know if I'm ever going to get a proper schedule back to my body clock. Who cares, there is no time other than vacation time! We had another nice breakfast and checked out, leaving our bags with the hotel for later. Another adventure on the subway, and an hour later we were walking through the gates of Disney! It was supposed to rain today, but somehow it held off the whole day. I think luck, or great kharma are on our side! Clearly being there for the opening of the gates was the best way to go; we spent the first two hours wondering if it was ever going to get busy. We made our way through every ride, including "it's a small world" for Mum. She LOVES that ride. Unfortunately, the last time we went to Disney in California, it was closed. So, we made sure that happened for her! We did a crazy Grizzly Bear Express roller coaster and screamed the whole time...we were the only ones on the ride,so it was hard to blame the girly screams on anybody else. At noon we went to the Disney Hotel for a light snack and some wine. What a stunning hotel, and impeccable service! We went back to the park after lunch but only rode a few more rides and saw a couple performances. Our lack of sleep caught up with us. We made our way back to the hotel, and just chilled out on the 5th floor patio with a bottle of wine we smuggled in. We met Dennis and Irene from England who were killing time the same as us. The bottle didn't last long, we were bored and hungry, so we ventured back out to a pub we noticed down the street; we still had 2 hours to kill before our airport shuttle. We ended up meeting the lovely Carda, a Phillipino server at the pub, and had a gas! Finally, time to make our way to the airport. But, we each took turns washing ourselves with paper towel in the hotel sink before we left. It would have been great to have a fresh shower before another 12 hours on a plane, but you do what you gotta do. We found a cool lounge in the airport with live jazz music which was the perfect end to our HK adventure! This was another flight with Cathay from Hong Kong to Johannesburg; another bloody 12 hours! The seats were even worse than the first flight. They were like fixed seats with these shifting back and butt pads. But, the hardware required for them to work just dug into your back and made it beyond bearable. I might have slept a total of 3 hours in 10 minute increments. And, that was after adavan, sleeping pill, Advil, and a Robax...frack! Meanwhile Cam's once again snoring away! Maybe all those naked dance parties before I left taught my body that it simply doesn't need sleep?! Anyway, 12 hours felt like eternity! I did manage to watch the latest Bourne movie (not that good), and a number of Modern Family episodes which put me back into a great mood! A quick stopover in Joberg and we were off on a one hour flight to Hoedspruit, Africa. Now that was a comfy flight! South Africa Airways -you rock! The rest will be continued in my next blog post. We've had a fabulous start to the day, are sitting by the infinity edge pool watching animals at the watering hole (no, not Irishmen in a bar, real animals at a real watering hole), and getting ready for our first game drive. I must go grab my bathing suit, and will fill in all the details of today in one shot later. Cheers!
